My kids are obsessed with minecraft so I got this several months ago for my 7 year old to practice his handwriting! I opened it up and was sadly disappointed! There are no pictures inside the pictures on the pages outside of the 1 small image of the item they are having you write. Each page has one word written one time at the top of the page to trace and then the rest of the page is just blank single lines to write on! I was hoping for more tracing, more images and maybe even some little blimps with tid-bits of minecraft facts or tips. I showed the book to my son and he hasn't opened it since!! He was greatly disappointed

I'm using this book to help my third-grader learn cursive, and she really enjoys getting to write Minecraft-related words as she practices her cursive letters. I especially appreciate that it shows how to form each letter, which many cursive practice books don't.

I buy up children’s Bible stories and Noah’s Ark is a favorite of mine. I collect Noah’s Ark’s I loved it so much.This book I gave to a little girl during a long wait in the ER. She was in pain but behaving so sweetly for a long time. After I finally got out I went to my car and grabbed this book and took it in for her grandmother to read to her. I don’t know their names and they don’t know mine, but it was the highlight of that night to see those little eyes light up by the simple gift of this book.

This book has just the right amount of detail for my Kindergarten Sunday school class. It mentions that Noah's family (3 sons and their wives) were on the Ark as well as Noah and his wife! It also mentions that the raven was the first bird Noah sent out to search for land and explains what the raven's and dove's behavior meant. Many versions of Noah's story don't tell of these events. I absolutely LOVE this book.

I bought this because I thought it is a board book and my son loves the Noah's ark story. However, I was disappointed with the cheap quality and it is NOT a board book as it is mentioned. Only the cover is board. The illustration is also not what I expected. It is a cheap book with a cheap quality.

It's a classic story with cute illustrations. My 2 1/2 year old daughter loves talking about Noah and his animals and how awesome God's promise is because as a reminder he gave us such a beautiful rainbow. Good translation of the biblical story without silly additions except a cute rhyme in the middle of the book.

Our Church had a book drive for elementary age children in our State. This is one of the books I purchased for the drive. Our small Church collected over 1000 books. We are thinking of starting a reading program with a school this fall, so will be ordering more books. As I went though books, I just loved this one.

These are far better than I expected! Very well made. Especially for this price. I was expecting a much lower quality. Thank you!

I have lots of extended family and they're not so good about getting the kids involved in Sunday School and such as my parents were. So I buy all these Little Golden Books, and start reading to them early. What a joy to come over and see big brother reading one to his little sisters!

Excellent for my grandchild! Loves to read! Great price too!

Ever since I heard about this book at a photo festival I knew that I had to have it. The photos are very captivating. The most difficult part about being a great photojournalist is not to capture sharp or well composed images, but rather the telling of stories from areas or societies that not everyone has access to. Hugo has done a phenomenal job on gaining the acceptance of the dog trainers and perhaps even the dogs/hyenas themselves.The photos in this book are masterfully done in every respect. Printing is exquisite.However, my gripe is with the editing of the book itself and in the selection of images.After about 20 photos of the same couple of guys posing with their hyenas I want to see more. Several phots look like they have been taken minutes apart. There is little contact between man and dog and even with their surroundings. We don't get to know the people behind the hyenas, it is as if we meet them by chance on the street and they agree to pose for us.All that said, I think this book is slated to be a future classic, epecially if Hugo made a re-edition with more varied images!

It never fails. A friend picks up my copy of the book, staring at the photo on the jacket, and then starts to turn each page, slowly, softly whistling, or humming, or whispering, "what IS this?"I've been around wild hyenas a bit, and they're fascinating animals. Their "laughing" is clearly a complex, almost dolphin-like language. They're rather timid, nowhere near as ferocious and dangerous as the big cats, to which they are apparently related.And then, the photos of man and baboon, just two stoic guys looking at the camera. These are photos that defy description. It's true, as one reviewer observed, there aren't enough photos. How could there be enough?

If you're unsure as to whether or not you might like this book, search online for the author's web site. He has one of the two text narratives posted as well as most of the photos in small images. If you like what you see there, you'll love this book. Though the book layout is very simple, the print quality is top notch.Finally, if you care about such things, the copy of the book I received in the mail today was the fourth printing, not the second printing like the Amazon product description promised.Highly recommended.

This was the first photo book I've ever purchased and it was mesmerizing. Incredible subject, fascinating environment and mind-blowing images. Reproduction is great. I just loved this book and its clarity. Well worth it.

Beautiful, full-colour pictures in this book. I love hyaenas, so this was a real treat to find for me. There are also very nice pictures of these men with baboons and pythons as well. Very well-put-together.

Definitely worth purchasing. The book is top quality and the commentary is very good.
