And in just sixty months after starting his own company, he built it to a company doing over $20 million in annual revenue.So the first lesson is that no matter what your past if you are really determined, you can build the life of your dreams. It took Mr. Long some six or seven years to reach a high level of achievement. But when you consider where he started from, that is absolutely amazing.Mr. Long was a high school drop out and was a three time convicted felon. But during his third stay in prison, he made the commitment to turn his life around. This was not based on some religious conviction or other spiritual enlightenment.He came to understand at a profound level, that the way you think influences your emotions. I read this book on direction of a coach in a new field I am choosing to pursue. At 55 years old the thought of starting a new reality is somewhat daunting. If that's what I thought, it surely is what I was going to encounter. Sometimes you just have to be open to seeing the same thing in a different way. Dumping my box and starting today. After all yesterday is a wrap. I will be sending this in hard copy to my son. He is handsome and charming. He is also in prison. I am hopeful that he will also dump his box.

What a great book. I ordered the audio version so that I can review often. I have met Weldon and he is a very genuine person. He spent two days with my employees and made a significant impact in their lives and mine. Its is now mandatory reading for all of my managers.

I have had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Long speak in public. He is an exceptional speaker and highly motivational. A great storyteller he can really captivate his audience. This book was excellent and I would recommend it to nearly anyone. Many things that he says you might already know where believe. But if you're like many people, you just need to hear it all over again to be motivated to follow it.

This is an awesome book. Its a pretty easy read, as someone with a little bit of an attention problem a book has to really emotionally engage me to get the wheels turning. This book was on point. Consistency is where all the magic happens, and this book reinforces that with great incites!

I bought this book on Audible. Listened to it twice. Then decided I needed a hard copy so I can mark it up with my highlighter. Growing up I would never have considered writing in a book or bending down a page... but as I've aged, I've come to finally realize... HEY! I PAID FOR THIS. I'll do what I want to it, and I like going back over certain content... certain key ideas... over and over. That's where the highlighter comes in.

This is exactly what I needed at exactly the right time. I've ready many other books that explain the power of visualization, a daily quiet morning ritual, consistency, and taking action. But Weldon Long's book hit me where I was getting caught up - in the regularity of the habit, the consistency, and more powerfully, the power of looking only at one or two next steps at a time. As Long says "the confused mind says 'no!'". One other thing that is is hugely empowering to me is Long's history. His journey from prison after being convicted of three felonies to the success he is today seems to be nothing short of a miracle - except it isn't. Long consistently put into practice what he prescribes in his book, changing his mindset (the contents of his "box) in the process. If a "three time loser," as Long used to refer to himself, can do it, then so can I - so can anyone.

I really enjoyed the book, but have yet to implement anything. It would be nice to have an accompanying workbook for some of the exercises.

I wanted to like this book; the reviews looked great, and I enjoyed The 19th Wife so I know Ebershoff is a talented, intelligent writer. But I found this one a chore to get through. Here's why:I just didn't buy the characters. Surely the first person to undergo gender reassignment surgery would be someone who was brave, strong-willed, and probably a colourful personality. Lili struck me as the sort of person who simply accepts whatever life brings, without resistance; childlike and timid. Greta, as a physically striking and very wealthy American, also seemed like a square peg in a round hole. She swings back and forth between being hesitant to even speak to her husband, and playing the role of controlling mother to him. I struggled to get a sense of who she really was. I don't know what the original people (who inspired this novel) were like, but I imagine them to be bolder, louder, and so much more colourful than the subtle shades-of-grey Lili and Greta are drawn with.I'm not sure where the reader sits with this novel. The writing style is to create small details with the reader linking them together to see the bigger picture. But sometimes we sit close to the characters; and sometimes they are subjects that we're studying. For example, there's an unspoken suggestion about where the doctor is taking his donor organs, and it's shocking; sending the reader's mind reeling. But the characters are completely aloof from it, which has the effect of pushing the reader back from the story.And finally, there was no humour in this novel - never a light moment, or little black humour to inspire a grim smile. No moment when the reader could share a smile with any of the characters, or with the author. Personally, I found that made the characters and their story difficult to access.I hope that’s a fair and helpful review. I read a number of reviews before I bought the book, and they were all glowing in their praise so obviously there are a lot of readers out there who will love this story. But it didn’t suit me at all, and it was a relief to reach the final page.

It's an easy read and an interesting story, but Ebershoff's prose is often overly flowery and clumsy. The characters are oversimplified, as is the study of being transgendered. It does too much to equate homosexuality, transgender, and intersex. The book has way too much fluff. The whole California backstory for Greta was unnecessary. Every person other than a single doctor seems totally unsurprised with what would've been somewhat scandalous. I'm sure many people were, but the percentage of people is awfully high. In real life, Greta/Gerda was known to be romantically interested in women as well as men, but this is not included in the book for some reason. I would love to read a non-fiction work about Gerda (Lili's Danish wife's real name) and Einar/Lili. This book isn't particularly well-written or well-researched and another author might do a better job with the story, even as fiction.

I'll have to see the movie now to see how true it manages to be to this so very rich novel's character's internal thoughts and inner journeys, sometimes separately, and sometimes together. Poignant barely manages to describe the depth of emotions this story, loosely based upon the life and related experiences of the first transgender surgical patient, her wife, and their family and friends during the period between WWI and the Great Depression.While I knew the bones of this historic surgery, that left enormous gaps in the lives which drove the patient to risk so much pain and death to have her body be matched to her authentic inner self... and the depth of her relationship with a lover and wife able to love, support, and release her to follow that oh so perilous and painful path toward dreams of a complete transition. We cannot KNOW all the inner lives of the cast during this time, but this story feels very true to a handful of quite dramatic times and lives. We can learn from and share from this haunting and beautiful telling of the story the depths of sorrow and the heights of ambition that fill the lives of those with gender identity disorder or the intersexed among us. It succeeds brilliantly in that regard, beyond being simply a spectacular novel.I seldom review novels, perhaps 2% of those that I read unless I am very significantly moved by it and feel that I have learned and grown as a human being by the experience. No novel that I have read in the last few decades has moved me as greatly as has The Danish Girl. I will be strongly recommending it to all my friends.

The writer pulls you in from the very first paragraph. For those of the same experience as Lili it screams with sympathetic vibrations. ..after all, we have been/are going through these very same experiences.Even for those outside this community this story will be compelling, enlightening, and should rip the heart in sympathy from any reader.I believe that this book should be required reading for any course in Womens Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, ....any field where policies are to be made that would impact the Transgender person. The Powers that be in control of the Veterans Administration quickly comes to mind. They provide breast implants to XX chromosome Veterans who have had a mastectomy or massive weight loss.... stating that this "cosmetic procedure" --"enhances their self-image, and may increase their longevity"... but for XY women....Transgender Veterans, the same gift is denied... even though the same " Self image" is the case....and as for " longevity"? They have a 50% attempted suicide rate.This book could generate a great deal of understanding, leading to policy change.

It's a pretty well-written book and an enjoyable read. It wasn't a "can't put it down" kind of book, but I did enjoy reading it. The main character's self-pity and lack of action was annoying at times. I think the author tries a bit too hard to catch the reader's interest--such as the "terrible secret" of the husband. Also, it does drag on a bit here and there. When finished, I did want to read more by the author. Surprisingly disappointed--No Longer Safe--predictable, ludicrous, and quite boring. I won't try any more.

Good grief! How anyone can take a whodunit of truly simple proportions and then go on, and on, and on about everything under the sun EXCEPT the story is beyond me. A full half of this novel should be shaved off and THEN we'd have a great story! The only reason I swept past dozens upon dozens of pages was to actually see who did do it!My advice? Hire an editor.

This is the 2nd book I've read by AJ Waines and I can't wait to dive into the next. She weaves a story that keeps you hoping for the best yet guessing right up to the end!

Lots of surprises, some a little hard to believe, but still an enjoyable book that held my interest. It's one of the books I read while on the exercise bike or treadmill, and I ended up spending a lot more time just because I didn't want to stop reading.

AJ Waines again has you pulled in right from the start. This book was full of suspense and surprises. I was a little disappointed in the ending, but overall it was a great thriller. It was right up my ally as far as the type of story line I enjoy reading. I like the writing style and the suspense in these books. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a great who done it!

I've always enjoyed English Mysteries. This well written book is no exception! A touch on daily English village life, a chance to view the relationships that exist in the countryside away from the bustling city atmosphere. Here life is quiet paced & people interact with one another in caring & helpful ways. At times tho' evil snakes in on its disgusting belly seeking whom itmay destroy as it satisfies it's lust. This time it runs into Good, in the form of a man that refuses to give up the fight! It grabbed & held my interest. Could hardly put it down until the very end!!! I highly recommend it! Anxious to read more by this author!

I said I would try another book by this author and I did. I was not disappointed at all. Read it in a few hours and loved it. So many of these independent, unknown writers are so good. Next time you're looking for something to read give one of them a chance, you won't regret it.

I like the book right from the start and I couldn't put it down. I like shorter chapters it keeps you more intrigued because you know the next chapters gonna be short so you keep going. I like the way you didn't know who did it until the end but somethings were predictable , but enjoyable. I would really like to know what happens with the couple is there a part two?

I already have the vinyl and American CD. Only reason I bought it was because of the different LP cover and there are a few different selection the US release didn't include. The price was pretty fair compared to other sellers...

Read this in 2 hours, simplistic and boring. More about the authors interpersonal relationships with his fellow travelers then traveling in India.Almost read like a YA novel.

Fast read. Definitely covers "the vibe" of India, travellers and hippies in the era I remember (late 90s).

I was expecting an entertaining novel, but was quite disappointed by the stereotypes about India and love stories.

The book is about traveling, so I supposed it`s fitting that it works very well as a travel read. I read the bulk of it on a 13 hour flight to Japan, and it set the stage well for my travels.Sutcliffe does a very good job of expressing the feeling I often have when I`m done with a trip: that I`m glad I did it, but I don`t know if I would want to go through the whole experience again.That said, much of the book seemed like it was missing something. The story is told from a first person perspective, which generally gives the reader a wonderful insight into the narrator. However, in this case, I never felt like I truely understood the narrator. Close at times, but never quite fully there.

This book surprises me, as it is not a more sough after read by people. Absolutely funny as hell! I highly recommend.

I bought this book thinking it was for guitar, but as soon as I got the book I knew it was exclusively for drums. I was very disappointed obviously, and sent it back a few days later.However, I did look through it and have to say the drum transcriptions are pretty spot on; only Mitch himself could have written better parts. So if you are looking for DRUM tabs only for this album, then look no further.I still think it is a little misleading to not list this book as, "Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced (Drum Tab)."That would save many peoples' time, and not piss off anyone looking for a guitar tab.Amazon: PLEASE CHANGE THE TITLE OF THIS PAGE!!

Book one -- a shocking tale of abuse and the resulting very damaged child. Book two -- a newborn baby whose mother gives him up, although she desperately wants to keep him; it's quite a mystery. Book three -- a child whose only parent is dying and has no relatives to take him.My only complaint is that each book is far too long, bogged down with the technicalities -- the rules, paperwork, and the immense amount of bureaucratic red tape. Also far too much about all the social workers involved with each case. In book three, far, far too much about the illness, death and funeral of the parent.Have a box of Kleenex handy.

Each of the stories in this collection was interesting and heartwarming. However, I find myself agreeing with many other reviewers who thought the stories got bogged down with details about the social services and foster parenting programs. I skimmed through a lot of the book, wishing the author would just get on with the story. Other than that, it was well written and held my interest.

Very interesting. I had no idea the amount of paperwork child caregivers had to do..However this was set in England so maybe its different in the USA.It is very difficult to read about the awful things that happen to children...these books are a gift to read about such a giving person who welcomes damaged kids into her home. Not all caregivers are as loving and kind as Cathy Glass.

HEART WRENCHING STORIES. LOVE,COUPLED WITH EXPERIENCE AND DEDICATION OFFER HOPE WHERE IT SEEMS THAT NONE IS AVAILABLE. DI AM SO GLAD THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT ARE WILLING TO RISK THEIR OWN HEARTS TO HELP THE YOUNG AND VULNERABLE.

I have just finished reading the trilogy of fostering children and could hardly put it down. I look forward to reading all of her books

works better now that i know how to focus on the amount i need, Nitika will some time split funds it sends if the whole amount cant be obtained from one source. ex: i asked for $ 2,500. the first amount i received was $1,700. At that point i only really needed 850 more, so i redirected my focus on the 850, instead of continuing to ask for the amount of 2500. a few days later, right before the deadline 1000 rolled in.So the lesson here is, its coming. Even if its a close call. Sometimes the whole amount cant be dumped off all at once. focus on the actual amount u need minus what u already got. hope this helps.cheers

Was so poor that even the $4.95 was a burden (to buy the book), and putting together a Cashbook was not option, so I improvised & I Believed. And you know what? It worked! In a little over 2 weeks I had the $500., I needed for my rent and all because of Nitika & Damon Brand---Thank You Both, and just like George Jefferson " I'm moving on up", & you will too, if u buy this book. CHEERS

Holy smokes...It worked!! I needed a large amount fast and I was a bit nervous because, Damon advises to start with a much smaller amount to attain confidence with its success. I didn't have the time, so I just went for it. I finished the 11 days and let it go. It was about a week later that I received a call with an unexpected offer that I couldn't refuse, this provided 3/4 of what I asked for. The next day I landed a project that covered the remainder +500 extra!!! Now this is magic!

I am happy for the other reviewers if they are real & telling the truth. In my case, I may be naïve but I put great sincerity and belief into the philosophy of Angel Magick and purchased several books from GOM, including the Magickal Cashbook. I even went to the forum and read the topics about abundance of magick, lust for results, etc. and followed the recommendations. I have used the Cashbook 3 times several weeks apart with no results. My annual salary is $85,000 so my 1st attempt with Nitika was for $2500 which is not a large amount of money to me. After that 11 day ritual I waited 2 weeks without thinking about the ritual or the money and had no results. I did the 11 day ritual again for $1000. That ritual ended 3 weeks ago. My only windfall was $3 on a lottery ticket someone gave me. My 3rd attempt for a very small sum has yielded no results yet. I have done various other workings such as looking for extra energy, improving musical skills, and a few others with the GOM books the Greater Words of Power, Angels of Alchemy, and the 72 Angels with no results. I have just purchased Adam Blackthorne's GOM books of Sigils of Power and Chaos Magick to see if I can find something that works for me but haven't worked with them yet. I have done all the previous workings with sincerity in a private room with no disturbances and approached these workings with absolute belief. I wish there was a source to discuss my frustrations with since I am beginning to feel stupid for believing in this and spending a lot of money on GOM books. I feel that I got some value in doing the workings since it puts you in a positive frame of mind and that is always good for making changes within yourself or attacking new projects but I didn't get enough value for spending 100's of dollars to purchase nearly the whole GOM library.

The first working I did, I asked for $1,000. Only a few days after finishing the 11 day ritual, we received notice of a relatives estate settlement from the fall of last year. We got a check in the mail for $7k! Completely unexpected because we didn't expect to get more than a few hundred dollars, maybe $1k at best. Craziest results and timing I've gotten from any working, and I've been practicing magic for 6 years.

Wow, wow, wow! I am awe. This book is now officially one of my favorites. It has really surprised me (in a GREAT way)... When I first brought the book back in 2017, I tried it a few times (some amounts I asked for were quite a few digits, and others were smaller), I did not see any results, so I put it away for a year, and went back to it recently, last week, when I was in a VERY serious bind. I had a bill of $600 that HAD to be paid before May 31st, 2018. I told myself to give my Magickal Cashbook another shot. Now although I was a little nervous, my gut feeling was that something was different this time around - I could feel it (The book felt energized (I don't know how else to describe it)). So I started the ritual, and TODAY, on the SEVENTH DAY, of the eleven day ritual (May 11th, 2018), I received an $800 check in the mail, from a company that owed me this money since "January 2017" - 14 months ago (And had told me on multiple occasions, since that time, that they were not going to pay me "one cent" of the money owed to me). The shock and EXTREME joy I felt when I opened my mail today, and seen that check, from this company, has left my eyes watery - This is a moment of happiness that I REALLY needed... Bottom line is "this Magic works." WORD OF CAUTION, don't go into the ritual with a fearful mindset, go in with a relaxed mindset "expecting" that the magic will do as it says it will (this will help out your outcome BIGTIME). The book tells the Space Shuttle Columbia’s last flight and break up on re-entry, and while offering some technical descriptions, is much more focused on the amazing people who searched for the crews’ remains and shuttle debris and those that re-constructed the pieces to help determine what went wrong. There is a wonderful rhythm to the book - Part 1 sets the stage. Part 2 is quite intense with a fast tempo chronicling the re-entry and search for the crews’ remains. Here, you meet ordinary citizens stepping up to do extraordinary deeds under pressure to not only perform well, but to perform quickly. You also see different local and national government agencies working together seamlessly. I cried at the end of this part; not just because of the loss of life but because of the selflessness, generosity and amazing spirit of so many people. In Part 3, we learn about the months-long search for the debris and the tempo of the book slows a bit, becoming more methodically, mirroring this search. The final part of the books brings closure to the search and cause of the accident and reflects back on the lessons learned, the heroics of the all the people involved - the engineers, the searchers, the families of the astronauts. The book is engrossing and educational and I highly recommend it. One piece of advice: read the Notes in the back as you go along - they provide rich information and add power to the stories!

It’s astronauts and mission stand for those ideals that this great country was founded on: pushing boundaries, exploration, and building on those who went before us.Bringing Columbia Home is really a story about America and it’s beloved Space Shuttle. How the iconic NASA and thousands of everyday Americans pulled together in a tragic circumstance to ensure the fallen astronaut’s families had closure and moving the space program forward back to flight.This is a fantastic book and if you’re like me, a kid of the 80s, honors the Space Shuttle which hung on your wall and was as big as your dreams.

Mr. Leinbach and Mr. Ward have written a superb book. It's really a tribute that they can write about the tragedy of Columbia exploding and still convey so much goodness that came afterward -- the humanity shown when so many people found themselves working for a common goal of finding answers and finding tens of thousands of pieces of debris -- some the size of a nickel -- over hundreds of miles. The narrative is fast-paced, and the technical aspects to be told are written sensitively and respectfully. It's almost incredible that such a heartbreaking story would end on an inspirational note, but it does. I just finished reading it and I am going to read it again.

This was an amazing book, both technical on one hand, but so very much a story of the best of America on the other. At the time of the Columbia loss, I was still too unsettled by the visuals of the Trade Center Towers attack and collapse. I had at one time had an office on the 98th floor of the North Tower, and I didn't want the details of the loss of the Columbia. But I'm a nerd at heart, and in spite of a few sessions of tears as I read this book, it is so worth reading now, especially now, as our country is virtually ripping itself apart. This story of literally bringing home both the Columbia crew and the shuttle itself, and the 25,000 people who reverently picked up the remains of man, woman and technology, it somehow made me feel better. It maybe gave me some hope we will be able to prevent our country's wider disintegration, and put ourselves back together once again. And, get our butts back in space. Exploration and imagination of great things ahead often serve to both heal and unify. Go NASA!!

Everybody knows how this story begins. The tragedy of Columbia’s final flight is indelibly seared into our memory. That’s not what this book is about. This is about the thousands of NASA workers, east Texas residents and volunteers from all over the country who literally and figuratively picked up the pieces in an effort to get back into space. This is where the heart and soul of Columbia’s final flight is honored.This book gives an excellent accounting of hundreds of witnesses to the largest recovery effort the world has ever seen. I️ can not recommend this book enough.

Just finishied what I believe to be, the BEST book I've read in the past several years. First off, the story of the Columbia is totally engrossing, but to have the story told by NASA personell, makes it even more interesting. Their involvement with the spacecraft was truly from "birth" to death". The Columbia story is certainly a tradegy, but the efforts to retrieve the wereckage and the remains of the 7 astronauts is a tale that's been told with tremendous detail and sensitivity. The effotrs expended by thousands of people, with unbounding enthusuasm and sensitivity is really something to experience, and it's well communicated throughout this book. I live in Austin, TX, and watched the Columbia disentigrate as it entered the atmosphere that Saturday morning. It has left an imprint on my soul. This book has answered so many questions for me. It has also given me the incentive to make a "pilgrimage" to Hemphill in the very near future to visit the museum. The detail is extraordinary!!!!!

I found this book profoundly moving. It's a well-written story of the Columbia shuttle disaster told by insiders who were there and witnessed the recovery operations. Really enjoyed reading this and learning more about how NASA, the people of Texas, and multiple governmental organizations worked together to bring Columbia and its crew back after the 2003 mishap. Well worth reading.
