One of the better splat books out there, especially for fighters and paladins. While it obviously buffs full casters (as if they needed it), it also gives a nice boost to several melee oriented classes. The most interesting parts are the familiar archetypes: several alternate familiar abilities that allow for a whole host of fluff and crunch to turn a familiar in exactly what you want it to be: from the figment--a dream brought to life-- to the mauler--a melee animal with fairly impressive strength--to the emissary--a divine guiding spirit. All in all, this is one of the better and most interesting companion books Paizo has published to date,
Great player companion for folks who like arcane casting and their familiars. Has new info, traits, feats, archtypes for casters. Its like the opposite of the Animal Companion for divine casters, yet both can be used for your character(s) and companion or and familiar. Has up to date info on familiars and even some new ones not in other books. Great source of info at hand to customize your familiar and your play style.
Quality of the booklet was great
I got this book for two reasons. One was to see if they had anything new to add to the familiar's rule sets and the other to see if I should try out the Pathfinder game system. As for the material for familiars, I did like most of what I saw that even though it did not seem to special. What I did read into setting material did look promising and I will probably buy the core rulebook when I get the chance.
